What sport do you play?

Cross Country

Why did you join cross country?

It’s a sport where I can forget about everything. I can go to my peaceful place.

What is something unique about cross country?

It’s different from any other sport. It’s a sport where only you can better yourself.

What is you pump up song?

Turn Down for What

Who is your motivator?

My older sister in college. She runs marathons.

What has this sport taught you?

It has taught me how to discipline my body. Even though I am tired, I can make my body keep going.

What has been your biggest accomplishment in cross country?

Going to State Championships.

What is your most memorable moment from cross country?

When I passed the finish line at State Championships.

How do you train?

I run everyday and make my body experience new things in order to become a stronger runner, for example, my chanclas!

Describe an embarrassing moment.

When I slipped and fell in front of the whole team. I laid there for a couple of seconds.

Who from your family likes Cross Country the most?

It’s a tie between my older sister and I because we have the same passion for running.

How important is recovery for you?

Its a day you can relax. It’s something important for your health.

Who has given you the best advice and what was it?

My summer coach from Hartnell, Christopher Zepeda. He overall showed me what it takes to be a good runner such as eating, training and mental strength.

What advice do you give to prospective runners?

Come in loving the sport, running, because if you really love running, then you will enjoy Cross Country.
